Accomplishments:

  • Labor Relations support for 1 non-union and 4 unionized facilities, characterized by a positive and collaborative union-company relationship. Employee Relations support to entire Atlanta Supply Chain (Sourcing, R&D, Manufacturing, Distribution, CI deployment and Compliance). 
  • In first year, got union support for 1 step grievance process.
  • Created strategic initiatives to drive improvement – got union buy-in to reevaluate all skill sets and have employees re-trained where lacking. 

Continuous Improvement deployment.  Actively involved in strategy deployment.  Led and participated in both production and transactional Kaizens.

Generalist job functions at each manufacturing plant or complex:

  • Human Resource responsibilities included: EEO/ADA/AAP responsibility, employee relations, hiring/employment, contract compliance, arbitrations and arbitration prep, grievance resolution, management development/training, & Employee Involvement coordinator. 2nd chair on all contract negotiation teams. 
  • Safety duties included: coordinating all required training annually for all employees, safety committee coordinator, worker’s comp management and follow-up. 2 sites were OSHA VPP Star sites.

Accomplishments:

  • Monticello plant – Due to widespread issues, created effective harassment training in 2003 that contained everyday language, not legal terms. Delivered to all 300 employees. Have modified and used at all companies since then.
  • Hawthorne plant – union recently voted in. Within 18 months, created a cohesive 1-step grievance procedure and union buy-in for the OSHA VPP program.
  • Savannah plant – in 2 years cut the grievance filing in half (previously 200+ per year)
  • Developed 3 HR trainees and promoted them to plant HR roles in other facilities.
